Gateshead based technology business Synergi has been acquired by Brightsolid (brightsolid.com), a managed service provider with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee and Manchester. Brightsolid is part of the DC Thomson Group (dcthomson.co.uk), a family-owned business, with its roots in media, which has diversified across technology, energy and marketing.

Synergi, founded in 2013, works with some notable UK organisations including Drager, NHS Highland, Arriva, Lothian Buses and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.

Brightsolid specialises in cloud, colocation, cyber resilience and business continuity which when coupled with Synergi’s Microsoft, automation, data & AI and business applications capabilities, will empower both businesses ambitious growth plans. These broadened offerings will enhance the businesses combined ability to deliver first-class end-to-end technology solutions to organisations across the UK.

Elaine Maddison, CEO of Brightsolid, which serves major clients including Shell and Albert Bartlet commented:

“Over the past year, Brightsolid has been actively looking for an organisation that can extend our range of services and support our growth plans across the UK. As a highly successful Microsoft Partner, Synergi does all of that and more. The culture and people are a brilliant fit for Brightsolid and we anticipate growth opportunities for both brands going forward.

Peter Joynson, Synergi co-founder and chief executive, added:

“Whilst we’ve been approached by buyers previously, we feel that the alignment and cultural fit Brightsolid provides make them a truly perfect match. They are a great bunch of positive, friendly and very smart people. Brightsolid specialises in cloud, colocation, cyber resilience and business continuity, so there are going to be lots of opportunities for us to work together to grow both companies, helping us meet our ongoing commitments to the business and our combined future success.”

It is business as usual for the team at Synergi, who will continue to work closely with their customers, team and partners to provide a first-class service.
